ATELIER Playa Mujeres: An Adults-Only All-Inclusive Getaway in Mexico

Did my parents take my oldest on an -early- bucketlist 14th birthday trip to Alaska? Yes.

Did my dad write me this review + did I completely gator tear reading it? Also yes. 🥹  Best. (Grand)Parents. Ever.
So thankful that they chose me to help plan this trip!!!
(Also, my dad called me Alicia for the first time in my life… who’s that?!!)   #  Alicia Rose provided our travel arrangement on our multi-generational birthday trip from Denver to Anchorage and down by train to Seward delivered the ultimate 14th birthday for our grandson, highlighted by incredible catch of Halibut, King and Silver Salmon, Yelloweye and Rockfish

The Journey and Build-Up
* Flew smoothly from Denver straight into Anchorage.
* Boarded the scenic coastal train for the unforgettable ride down to Seward.
* Built massive excitement for our grandson’s 14th birthday milestone.

The Travel
Flying from Denver to Anchorage was smooth, but taking the Alaska Railroaddown to Seward was the absolute highlight of our transit—offering jaw-dropping window views for a teenager’s first time in Alaska.

Historic Anchorage Hotel
Packed with charming 1916 vintage character, a cozy lobby, and a warm staff that made us feel right at home before heading south.

Safari Lodge
Beautiful waterfront rooms built right over the small boat harbor boardwalk. We sat on our private deck watching sea otters and fishing boats.
The Charter Experience
* Stepped aboard the spacious M/V Sea Quest catamaran with Alaska Northern Outfitters.
* Enjoyed a comfortable, fast ride to the prime fishing grounds with a top-notch crew.
* Utilized the unique upper deck for breaks and incredible views without interrupting the lines.

The Catch
* Reeling in hard-fighting King and Silver Salmon.
* Pulling up heavy, rewarding Halibut.
* Landing gorgeous, brightly colored Yelloweye rockfish.

The Verdict
* An absolute home-run 14th birthday memory for our grandson.

It comes as no surprise how much I LOVE Colorado—planning adventures in our home state is one of my absolute FAVORITE things to do. So when this foursome asked me to help book their September getaway, I was beyond excited.
